Artist's Comments

My entry for the "Bring Your Vision To Life Contest". I used the earth I made in my previous deviation for this. Hope it fits the theme of the contest.

Oh, and the red thing is a hand.

Critiques

:iconwolf-grrl:
I find the simplicity and sketchiness very enjoyable in this piece. It has a straight message and an energy that shows ever-changing life.

I understood right away that it was a hand. You have the necessary components of the contour (knuckles, palm, the foot of the ulna that creates the bump on the pinkie side).

It is interesting that you decided to show Africa. I am taking a Great Ape conservation course and all of the apes (along with other species) are in serious trouble due to human impact. This piece shows the doom of not only humans, but animals and the entire environment.

I enjoy the message to this piece, which in a nutshell is essentially, earth and nature good. Man bad.
I like the simplicity of the design, and the scribbly qualities that you used in the coloring. The message of it is good, being green and whatnot :)

Um... in your comments you had to explain that the bottom red shape is a hand, that was pretty much my guess, but it could probably look more hand like?

To be honest, whereas I don't hate this design by any means, I don't really like it either. I don't feel it's very impacting, and it does sort of seem familiar from somewhere or other??

I wish you the best of luck in your contest. :)

Beautiful and very eye-catching.
The fact that it looks like a child's drawing is very apt, but the fact that it ISN'T adds a quality to it that is professional enough to be a poster.
I really do like this. Nice message, very well portrayed with the crayon effect!

I really like the simplicity and symbolic nature in this piece. I think you did a great job, the message is very clear.

Pretty good execution of concept. This may be fitting for a poster because the composition is reminiscent of one.
