How to get a Daily Deviation!

Ever wanted to get the prestigious Daily Deviation? While there really isn't a right way to get one, I have noticed a couple of things you can do to improve your chances of getting one.

So right, lets get on with the list then shall we? Yes, we shall.

:bulletblue: Don't be popular
The staff here on dA like to give a DD to people who aren't that well known. So if you have like 500,000 pageviews then your chances of getting one are a little less than most people. That isn't to say that it's impossible for you to get one. I have seen well known people get one too. But honestly, you probably have more than enough exposure already with so many pageviews :aww:

:bulletblue: Know the community
If no one knows about you then no one can suggest your work for a DD. So if you get a little more involved with the community and make friends then your friends may suggest your work. Many people think that suggesting a DD is a long process so they don't bother suggesting, but your friends want good things for you and they might just write a note to a Gallery Moderator about your work. :)

:bulletblue: Suggest your work for a DD
Many people don't know this but you can actually suggest your own work for a DD. Personally I have never done this but the option is there. If you feel like you've made something incredible that deserves more recognition, then go ahead and give it a try. :thumbsup. Although constantly suggesting your own work will probably just annoy the Gallery Moderators and your chances of getting a DD will probably weaken. :XD:

:bulletblue: Make what you want to make
If you try to make things just for the purpose of it getting a DD then that's just stupid. Make what you want to make. Gradually your work will get better and people will start to take notice. And then eventually so will Gallery Moderator's. And they might just pick your work. :eager:

Those were just a few tips I thought I'd share. They may improve your chances, they may not.

Remember this, getting a Daily Deviation doesn't make you a great artist and not getting one doesn't make you a bad one. Getting a Daily Deviation basically means that someone found your work interesting enough to share with others. Don't make art for the purpose of getting a DD. If you deserve one then you will get one someday.

Never will suggest myself in a million years...unless in the thumbshare forum. My stuff isn't good enough.

I've seen plenty of popular artists not just get one, but two or more.

I have to disagree with the "Don't be popular" and have to say something to "Suggest your work for a DD"

1. It doesn't matter if you are popular or not, your work has to be good, there are many "popular" deviants who still get DD's because their deviations are epic ;)

2. There are some GM's who accept that deviants suggest themselves, but they have to check their DD Guidelines on their userpage or in a Journal :B

I could never go about suggesting myself for a DD, even if I felt anything I did was up to par lol... It's like a calling myself Mr. or a japanese guy putting san at the end of his own name. It's just tacky.
